Sock Toes and Woes

So I have the (fab) Queen Kahuna sock book (which you can get here). But I can't get a decent toe. Look:

Now the good news is, when you put these ON, they look GREAT. But I'd like something more esthetically pleasing during construction.

I've also GOT to get some sock blockers.

Herm.

Just an idea here. These toes are knit with an increase on every other round, as normal. I find that this creates a pointed toe, as you know. I like to knit my toes, up or down, with a rounded toe. That means doing the increase or decrease in a graduated manner --- less towards the ball of foot, more towards the tip of the toe. You will have to work out the math on these for yourself, since we all have different preferences. There is one idea here: http://www.knitlist.com/96gift/glisasox.htm
You might also like the more anatomically correct toe, but that means more attention to detail.
